PRE-REGISTRATION (Form). TWO PHASES: ADMISSION AND ACCESS

Admission Phase

During this phase, the corresponding academic committee (AC) will assess the documents related to the academic merits of the applicant ( admission criteria ). These criteria will be published on the website of each doctoral programme . Otherwise, applicants can contact the  proposing centre and refer the request.

  • First of all, applicants should complete the  pre-registration form and, afterwards , contact the centre responsible for the  doctoral programmes  for them to refer their intention of registration to the Academic Committee, along with a presentation explaining their objectives within the research line selected. Please, note that the Doctoral School is not the proposing centre.
  • Once applicants submit their applications, the corresponding Academic Committee will assess their documents and submit a decision on whether admission is approppriate or not.
  • The corresponding Academic Commiittee will issue a certificate of admission and submit it to the Doctoral School Secretary's Office. This certificate must state if the applicant has been admitted or not, as well as the research line they have been assigned or, otherwise, the reason for rejection.
  • EDUA secretary's office will notify applicants who have not been admitted.
  • Admitted applicants should go on with the  access phase.

IMPORTANT NOTE: the academic committees can cancel new applications at any time of the process .

Access Phase

In this phase, the Doctoral School Secretary's Office will monitor if applicants meet the  requirements to have access to doctoral programmes

  • Once the secretary's office receive the favourable certificate of admission from the corresponding academic committees, an assesement of whether applicants meet or do not the  access requirements  , examining the academic certificates and titles they submit on pre-registration. Applicants with foreign certificates or from outside the EHEA should pay a fee for an  equivalency assessment report of foreign degrees that have not been recognised  and attach a  certificate from the home university where they should state  that such a certificate qualifies the applicant to have access to doctoral programmes in their home countries. The invoice for this fee can be downloaded from the pre-registration form and paid electronically (by credit card). It can also be printed to be paid in cash at the bank entities listed on the invoice or by international transfer (see here the instructions to successfully make international transfers). Once EDUA secretary's office confirms the payment has been correctly done, they will follow with an assessment of equivalences of the foreign degrees attached which have not been previously recognised, and if the result is favourable, the access phase of the applicant will follow.
  • EDUA Secretary's Office will open an academic report for each applicant who have met access requirements. They will also be sent an electronic email to the email address they stated on pre-registration with instructions, username and password for them to be able to complete registration through the University of Alicante's Virtual Campus.
  • EDUA secretary's office will notified those applicants who do not meet the access requirements of their rejection and the reasons why they were not admitted. If they submit the documents requested and these are correct, then their academic record will be open and applicants will be sent an email (to the address they provided on pre-registration) with all the instructions, username and password for them to register through the Virtual Campus.
