PhD ACCESS PATHWAYS

Depending on the entry qualifications (Spanish, from the EHEA or from outside the EHEA) there are different admission pathways, which will be detailed below:

ADMISSION PATHWAY 1: be a holder of a Spanish official undergraduate degree certificate and a Master's degree certificate, provided candidates have passed a total of at least 300 ECTS credits with these two degrees. Documents required:

  • Copy of the undergraduate degree certificate.
  • Accreditation of undergraduate credits
  • Copy of the Master's degree certificate
  • Accreditation of Master's studies credits

 

ADMISSION PATHWAY 2: be a holder of a Spanish university degree enabling candidates to enter official Master's studies and have passed a total of at least 300 ECTS credits amongst official university degrees, of which at least 60 credits must be, taught in a Master’s degree. Documents required

  • Copy of a university degree certificate
  • Accreditation of such a degree (with credits)
  • Accreditation of an Official Master’s degree (with credits)
  • If necessary, accreditation of further university studies up to completing the required 300 credits.

 

ADMISSION PATHWAY 3: be a holder of an undergraduate degree issued by another EHEA country, enabling access to an official Master’s degree and have passed at least a total of 300 ECTS credits in official university studies, and at least 60 of them must have been taken in a Master’s degree. Required documents (translated into Spanish or Catalan) :

  • Copy of an undergraduate degree certificate of another EHEA country
  • Accreditation of such a degree (with credits)
  • Accreditation of an Official Master’s degree (with credits)
  • If necessary, accreditation of further university studies up to completing the required 300 credits.

 

ADMISSION PATHWAY 4: be a holder of a Spanish official undergraduate degree with at least 300 ECTS credits passed, or be a holder of a Spanish official undergraduate degree prior to those regulated by Royal Decree 1393/2007 (BOUA 05/03/2014). Documents required:

  • Copy of that university degree certificate
  • Accreditation of such a degree (with credits)

 

ADMISSION PATHWAY 5: be a holder of an official undergraduate degree and have gained a training job position in the corresponding entry examinations for specialised healthcare training, with a positive report over at least a two-year training period for achieving an official certificate of any specialised branch in Health Science. Documents required:

  • Copy of the university degree certificate
  • Accreditation of having gained a place in specialised healthcare training
  • Accreditation of a positive report (minimum of a two-year training period)

 

ADMISSION PATHWAY 6: be a holder of foreign qualifications issued abroad, after checking that it is equivalent to a Spanish official Master’s degree and qualifies the holder to enter PhD studies in the country issuing the certificate. Documents required (translated with official approval):

  • Proof of having paid the fees of the Statement of Comparability (during pre-registration)
  • Copy of the foreign degree certificate
  • Accreditation of such a degree (with credits)
  • Accreditation from the home university stating that such a degree qualifies the holder to enter PhD studies

 

ADMISSION PATHWAY 7: be a holder of another PhD degree certificate from previous university regulations. Documents required:

Copy of the doctoral degree certificate

 

ADMISSION PATHWAY 8: Graduates, architects or engineers holders of the Advanced Studies Diploma pursuant to R.D. 778/1998. Documents required:

Copy of the Diploma

 

ADMISSION PATHWAY 9: Graduates, architects or engineers holders of the Research Methods Proficiency certificate, pursuant to R.D. 185/1985. Documents required:

Copy of the academic certificate stating the achievement of the Research Methods Proficiency.

 

ADMISSION PATHWAY 10: Other university studies

If your entry qualifications do not match any of the above admission pathways, you must submit all the documents necessary to assess your application (copies of degree certificates, copies of accreditations, etc …).
