HOW IS THE PRE-ENROLMENT PROCESS ORGANISED?

There are two phases:

  • Admission phase: organised by the Academic Committee of each doctoral programme.
  • Access phase: organised by the Doctoral School secretary's office

WHAT ARE THE ADMISSION CRITERIA SUBJECT TO EVALUATION BY EACH ACADEMIC COMMISSION?

Each doctoral programme's information page defines these criteria. If they are not there, you can contact the corresponding Academic Commission and ask the question.

WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR DOCTORAL PROGRAMMES?

Entry requirements:

The basic criteria to be able to enter the new doctoral programme, pursuant to Art. 6 of the RD 99/2011, are the following:

  • To have obtained a minimum of 300 ECTS at university level education.
  • Of those 300 ECTS, at least 60 credits should be of a Master's level.

Note that applicants who cannot certify those credits with their degree(s) should also submit -along with the corresponding degree certificates- a certificate from their university of origin to prove evidence that their qualifications enable them to enter doctoral studies in the issuing country of those degree certificates. Those certificates are required for access to doctoral studies.

Fees for doctoral programmes will depend on certain aspects. Structure of doctoral courses.

  • Academic fees are established by the Valencian government (GV). The annual registration receipt consists of an academic supervision fee, an administrative fee (for the university ID card) and a school insurance fee, where appropriate. In the first year, there is also a fee for the opening of an academic record.
  • The taxes of the compulsory transversal training activities, some common for all the programmes, other specific of each one of them, are the following:
    • The cost of common activities is included in the academic supervision fee.
    • The cost of specific activities will depend on the candidates' travel, registration, stay expenses etc, that is, running expenses that are not academic or administrative fees of the University of Alicante
  • Complementary training will consist of courses from any UA Master's programme and the academic fees for it correspond to those established for doctoral programmes which may vary depending on the field of knowledge.

CAN I STILL PRE-ENROL IF I DO NOT HOLD AN ACADEMIC CERTIFICATION TO ACCESS DOCTORAL STUDIES?

No. Candidates need to be in possession of the certificate that provides access or the receipt of payment for the corresponding issuing fees of such certificate.

WHAT ARE THE DEADLINES ESTABLISHED FOR PRE-ENROLMENT?

Los plazos de preinscripción (ordinario y extraordinario) puedes consultarlos aquí

HOW CAN I PRE-ENROL?

Pre-enrolment can only be done via the Internet, by filling in this form .

WHAT ARE THE DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR PRE-ENROLMENT?

Candidates should submit the documents listed here, depending on the type of access selected.

Candidates with EHEA certificates do not need their authentication although translation into Spanish or Valencian is required.

We recommend that students upload low resolution files in a pdf format and after that, they compress them into .rar or .zip formats in order to avoid large file sizes.

Total size of all files uploaded should not be larger than 28 MB.

WHICH DOCUMENTS DO I NEED TO SHOW TO PRE-ENROL IF MY ACCESS DEGREE IS FOREIGN AND IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE EHEA?

  • Certificate from the university in which you coursed your studies that proves that the degree you possess would allow you to access doctoral studies in the country of origin (and its translation into Spanish or Valencian).
  • A receipt showing the payment for the fee regarding the equivalence study of not-officially-validated foreign studies. This receipt can be downloaded electronically from the pre-enrolment form and can be paid:
    • Using a credit card in the form.
    • You can print it and pay it in any of the banks that appear on the receipt.
    • By international transfer (consult instructions here).
  • Once the payment for the fee has been confirmed, we will proceed to the analysis of the equivalence. If it is favourable, you will be able to continue the access procedure.
  • A copy of the degrees equivalent to an official Spanish Master's degree and its translation to Spanish or Valencian.
  • Academic certificates of said degrees (containing the subjects, hours and/or credits), and their translation into Spanish or Valencian.

Documents that are not in Spanish or Valencian must be translated to one of these languages. It is not necessary for the translation to be official during the pre-enrolment process. It is also not necessary for the documents to be legalised, a simple copy would be enough. However, during the actual registration process these documents will have to be officially translated and authenticated.

CAN I PRE-ENROL IF I AM MISSING ANY OF THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS?

It is necessary to attach the access degree or the receipt for the issuing payment of the access degree and the identification document.

If you do not attach the required documents both the Academic Commission and EDUA’s administrative Secretariat can reject the access request.

HOW CAN I SUBMIT THE DOCUMENTS?

The documents can only be submitted by attaching them onto the pre-enrolment form. Within the form, each document has its own space to upload onto the program.

Total size of all files uploaded should not be larger than 28 MB.

We recommend that students upload low resolution files in a pdf format and after that, they compress them into .rar or .zip formats in order to avoid large file sizes.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE BEEN ADMITTED?

  • If the person concerned has been accepted by the Academic Commission and meets the access requirements, EDUA’s administrative Secretariat will open an academic record and they will send the student an e-mail to the address they offered in the pre-enrolment form giving him/her instructions, username and password in order for them to fill their registration through UACloud.
  • If the person concerned has been accepted by the Academic Commission but does not meet the access requirements, the administrative Secretariat will notify the access denial and the reasons. If they were to submit the appropriate documents required the process described above will continue. If they are not submitted, the procedure will be archived without further processing.
  • If the person concerned has not been accepted by the Academic Commission, EDUA’s administrative Secretariat will notify them, explaining the reasons for this decision.
