PhD ACADEMIC STAFF DUTIES

PhD TUTORS: REVISION OF ACTIVITIES / ANNUAL REPORT
  1. To sign the student's PhD Commitment Document in the first academic year.
  2. To revise the specific skills training activities to accept or reject them.
  3. To publish a positive or negative report on the activities carried out by the PhD candidate during the academic year, which will be taken into account by the academic committee for joint evaluation. This report will be published as a pdf file. Model report form: doc pdf
  4. To authorise the PhD thesis submission.
PhD THESIS SUPERVISOR: REVISION OF THE RESEARCH PLAN/ ANNUAL REPORT
  1. To sign the student's PhD Commitment Document in the first academic year.
  2. To revise and, where appropriate, to accept the PhD student's annual research plan.
  3. To publish a positive or negative report that will be taken into account by the academic committee for joint evaluation. This report will be published as a pdf file. Model report form: doc pdf
  4. To authorise the PhD thesis submission.

GUIDELINES FOR PhD TUTORS AND/OR THESIS SUPERVISORS TO SUBMIT REPORTS

PhD COORDINATORS
  1. To examine pre-registration applications and accept or reject them.
  2. To appoint a PhD tutor and a PhD thesis supervisor for each student. The PhD tutor must appointed on admission whereas the PhD thesis supervisor can be appointed up three months later.
  3. To sign the student's PhD Commitment Document in the first academic year.
  4. To carry out the joint evaluation of all PhD students at the end of each academic year. This evaluation will take into account the activities carried out and accepted, the research plan approved and the reports issued by PhD tutors and/or PhD supervisors. (Tutorial to evaluate students)

    A positive evaluation allows PhD students to continue their PhD studies. A negative evaluation might involve the definitive withdrawal from the PhD degree.

  5. To examine and resolve the applications for (temporary) withdrawals, extensions, change of PhD tutors and/or thesis supervisors, etc.
  6. To authorise the PhD thesis submission.
